Universities are offering more online lectures again

That's what

  • Students who fall ill or have to stay at home in isolation because of the pandemic depend on online lectures or recordings.

  • At the OST University of Applied Sciences, students complained about missing records.

  • Thanks to the new Corona measures from Bern, the situation is defusing.

Sick students at the University of Applied Sciences East in St. Gallen missed several weeks of subject matter in the current semester because the University of Applied Sciences East had initially decided against making all lectures available online. This is reported by the «St. Galler Tagblatt »on Monday. One student did not understand the situation in the article. During the lockdown in 2020, the lectures could still be followed online from home. This service should now be offered again due to the federal corona measures that became known on Friday. “Our lecturers at the University of Applied Sciences are requested to offer online lectures unless they have to take place on site, such as exercises in the laboratory, in the workshop or in the improvised hospital room,” says Michael Breu, media spokesman for the University of Applied Sciences East.

At the HSG, the autumn semester with a 3G certificate is mandatory in attendance, as it is called on request. “Students who cannot take part in the lectures in person are offered adequate alternatives such as streaming or recording the lessons or additional documents in order to acquire the teaching and learning material in self-study,” says the HSG.
