Total Petroleum Puerto Rico Corp. donated some 3,700 solar lamps to the Puerto Rico Red Cross to distribute in communities vulnerable to the possibility of an atmospheric phenomenon leaving sectors of the island without power.
“This important donation is part of the Total Access to Energy program and is part of our commitment to become the main responsible for energy, a modern, accessible, reliable and sustainable energy,” said Juan José Raga, general manager of Total Petroleum Puerto Rico Corp.
The equipment delivered will allow people to illuminate their homes, move and study at night, power their cell phones, radios, fans, among others, which facilitates the daily life of the beneficiary households.
“We have been in alliance with the Puerto Rico Red Cross for three years and this donation is an example of our commitment to supporting communities in their moments of greatest need through an organization that has proven its ability to respond and distribute aid” Raga added.
