Judge Joei-Lin Lao Meléndez of the San Juan Court of First Instance found today, Wednesday, cause for trial against a man for the murder of his 3-year-old son , in events that occurred on December 14, reported the Secretary of Justice Acting, Inés del C. Carrau Martínez, and the Acting District Attorney of the San Juan Prosecutor's Office, María E. Hernández Medina.
After several days of parading the test in preliminary view, Martin Becerril Pacheco, father of the minor, was determined cause by Art. 93 (b) – Murder of the Penal Code in its modality of abuse. The judge set the accusation reading hearing for October 7, 2020 and the date of the trial was set for October 28, 2020.
According to the investigation, the accused took, together with an alleged relative, the minor without vital signs to the CDT of Río Piedras. The minor had multiple bodily traumas that caused death.
The case was filed by the Prosecutor Lynnette Velázquez Grau on February 14, together with agent Michael Figueroa of the Homicide Division of the San Juan CIC of the Puerto Rico Police Bureau.
