On Saturday morning an elderly lady in Gossau SG suffered a minor mishap. The 82-year-old had parked her car on the forecourt of the Andreas Church and wanted to drive away. Instead of the entrance to Merkurstrasse, the woman chose the wrong route and landed on the pedestrian staircase near the Andreas Hall, where the vehicle got stuck. The woman could not drive forwards or backwards, writes the St. Gallen canton police in their message. Neither she nor anyone else was injured in the incident. The vehicle was recovered together with the local fire brigade. Property damage of a few hundred francs resulted.
