The date of the criminal trial of Gilbert Rozon for rape fixed
The trial of ex-humor tycoon Gilbert Rozon for rape and indecent assault will take place from June 8 to 12.
It will take place at the Montreal courthouse before a judge, and without a jury.
The accused’s lawyer, Pierre Poupart, and the Crown prosecutor, Bruno Ménard, appeared in court Tuesday morning to determine the dates of the trial.
The founder of Juste pour rire was not present in court, as is his right at this stage of the proceedings.
Mr. Ménard has not wanted to reveal for the moment what evidence he intends to present and who will be the witnesses. However, he confirmed that the alleged victim will testify.
The events with which the accused is accused allegedly occurred between June 1 and September 21, 1980 in Saint-Sauveur, when Gilbert Rozon was 25 years old.
