THREE RIVERS — Two boxers from the region have received their invitation to the canadian Championships in amateur boxing through the front door, this weekend, by winning the Challenge of champions presented in Quebec.

In the elite class, the) Marie-Pier Houle, club Zewski, has had the best of Laura-Lou Fortin via decision in the 69 kg final.

By virtue of its victory at the golden Gloves, the protégé of Jean Zewski and Sébastien Gauthier has also received a pass directly to the final.

“It’s been a few times that she faces this opponent. She had lost the first two times in fights tight. Here, it is the third time it beats, note Zewski. We worked a lot on her mental preparation for her to be more calm in the ring. She sees much better holes to attack and, in addition, it has a strike force is exceptional.”

In recent months, the Swell was right in an international experience with the team from Quebec, while she has played in a fight during a trip to Poland.

In juveniles, Louis Balleux of the Club’s Performance has been crowned the winner of juveniles 50 kg at the end of a duel regional face-to-Tarik Moujane club Warriors of La Tuque.

“He stopped his rival in the second round. Currently, he is on a good momentum. It is in good physical condition and it promises to be interesting for the canadian Championships”, stresses coach Jimmy Boisvert.

Three other boxers from the Club Performance have also been crowned without opposition at the Challenge of champions: Clementine Chandonnet (juniors, 51 kg), Tyler Molaison (juveniles, 52 kg) and Kai-Rick Lemire (juveniles, 70 kg +).
