Stuck on their return to the scene of the crime
The Quebec City Police Service (SPVQ) has snared up two suspects wanted for various stolen tools valued at $ 150,000. The suspects facilitated the officers’ task by returning to the crime scene a few days after the incident.
Following the arrest of Frederic Lapointe, 44, and a 27-year-old woman, the SPVQ was able to find previously stolen tools, perfumes and dental equipment.
Last Monday, a business on Jacquard Street in Les Rivières borough had contacted agents about a break and enter. The crime had taken place a few days before. Several tools were stolen for $ 50,000.
While the agents were on the scene with the forensic identification to conduct some analysis, the suspects returned to the scene. They were arrested at this time for breaking and entering, theft over $ 5,000 and mischief under $ 5,000.
Lapointe appeared at the courthouse on Tuesday, when the woman was released without charge.
All the goods found in their possession were related to several ongoing investigations. The couple’s vehicle was also seized as offense-related.
