Puerto Rican artists continue to seize virtual tools and media to continue entertaining the public with their talent.
This is the case of the new film “McCondo boricua cafretería” which premieres on a digital platform with a cast of leading figures in the comedy genre.
Within the new world of virtual shows, Ángel Vázquez has become a successful pioneer. After the presentation of the satire ” Estadity” last August, he premiered his first film production.
In “McCondo boricua cafretería” Yuyo (Ángel Vázquez), is the owner of a small cafeteria with a great economic debt in the midst of COVID-19, surrounded by employees who in the midst of their misery demand their pay and present their particular situations .
He is “like the ham on the sandwich.” And to attract more customers, he decides to change the concept of his Sport Bar for that of the Puerto Rican national sport, politics.
This is a satirical musical comedy that tells of the problems faced by both the owner and his employees in Puerto Rico today. The table is set! Get rid of laughter !!!

The film touches on issues that affect everyone and that intensify in the midst of the pandemic. Some of them are gender equality, education, couple relationships, the situation of artists, and the deaf community.
The film was filmed in the municipalities of Vega Baja and Cidra. Vázquez says that he was inspired by a true story that occurred during the pandemic in a town in the center of the island.
With a cast of first comedians: René Monclova , Cristina Soler, Tita Guerrero , Wanda Sais, Carmen Nydia Velázquez, Manolo Castro, Luis Enrique Romero, Allan Rivera, Carmín Boisolie, Allan Rivera and Ángel Vázquez (who writes, directs and produces the piece). It also features interventions from the diaspora by Tony Chiroldes (New York) and Johnny Ray (Los Angeles).
The musical arrangements are by Carlos “Tato” Santiago, with the special participation of Black Rhythm.
