The comedian and television presenter, Raymond Arrieta, announced this afternoon in the program “Día a día” (Telemundo) that next Monday, October 12, the twelfth edition of the “Da vida” walk begins, for the benefit of the patients of the Oncological Hospital of Puerto Rico.
During the first day, the host of “Raymond y sus amigos” will walk from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm on the Telemundo premises. Likewise, the activity – which due to the COVID-19 emergency was not held in its original format – will run throughout the week. Arrieta invited those who acquired the promotional products of the event, to use them in support and to join the march from wherever they are.
Last June, the animator stated that he had the shoes ready to start walking in the Semana Da Vida and that it would be held in the last quarter of the year.
“We cannot go outside to walk to protect our patients and their caregivers. This is not the time to go outside. But we are going to walk in a different way at least 10 miles a day for five days and collect money, ”Arrieta said at the time.
Producer Tony Mojena specified that it was pressure from the public and the production team that motivated him to carry out the event, which will have at least three hours a day of transmission.
“This year the best thing was not to do it because we didn't want anyone to get sick. But, we had to invent something. I appreciate every message and email from the public committed to this cause because that's where most of the ideas came from, ” the executive admitted.
“The money has to come. We learned that there was a recent theft of equipment at the hospital and we want to replace it. We know that we may not raise the same amount of money as previous years, but any contribution is important, “concluded the philanthropist.
