Thank you for reading the news about OFFICIAL: Zamalek winger joins Smouha on loan until end of season and now with the details
Dubai – Yasmine El Tohamy – Alexandrian giants Smouha have completed the signing of Zamalek winger Mostafa Fathi on loan until the end of the season.
Fathi had joined Zamalek in October 2013 from Nabaroh and was among the club’s top prospects, but his development has stalled due to a number of injuries.
This caused him to go down the pecking order and lose his position as a regular among the first-team squad, making just 28 appearances over the past three seasons.
In order to get more playing time, Fathi has requested to go out on loan this January and he almost joined newly-promoted side Bank Al Ahly, before changing his mind and joining Smouha instead.
The 26-year-old winger becomes Smouha’s first winter signing as the club want to strengthen their squad after a poor start to the season.
After six games played, Smouha sit 11th on the league table, winning just one game while drawing four, collecting seven points, just three away from the relegation zone.

Meanwhile, Mostafa has almost 150 appearances for the Whites, scoring 24 goals and providing 14 assists, helping the club win one league title, three Egypt Cups, one Egypt Super Cup, and the CAF Confederation Cup.
This will be the second time he is sent out on loan by Zamalek after spending one season at Saudi side Al-Taawoun in 2017/18, when he scored five goals and assisted twice in 11 games.
