OC Transpo: free service for New Years Eve
In order to make Ottawa’s roads safer and avoid impaired driving, the public carrier OC Transpo offers its service free of charge starting at 5 p.m. Tuesday evening.
The ‘re users will be able to board the bus, the O-Train and even vehicles Para Transpo, free of charge until 2 January 1st.
“A special schedule will be in effect for the holidays, and additional trips will be offered in the evening,” says OC Transpo. The bus service and the O-Train will operate on a reduced schedule for weekdays. ”
Bus service will be provided downtown to Rideau station from 1 a.m. until 4 a.m., Line 2 O-Train service will be provided until 1 a.m.
On the Gatineau side, the Société de transport de l’Outaouais (STO) will offer its service free of charge starting at midnight on January 1, following the Sunday schedule.
Remember that December 31 is the last evening of Operation Red Nose Outaouais activity. Those who would like to use the drop-in service can do so by calling 819-485-0575.
