The Swiss women's floorball team fails in the semi-finals at the host Sweden – the team loses 1:14. The bronze medal is still possible in the small final.

The Swiss women had no chance against Sweden.

That's what it's about

  • The women's floorball national team fails in the World Cup semi-finals.

  • Switzerland loses 1:14 against hosts Sweden.

  • The Swiss women are now playing for bronze at the World Cup.

1:14 is a clear verdict. The Swiss women were only able to keep up with the nine-time floorball world champions at the beginning. Until the eleventh minute, the national team was able to keep the 0-0, and would even have had the chance to take the lead. But the Scandinavians were more cold-blooded. And once they were leading, there was nothing more to be done against Sweden. In the 43rd minute, Isabelle Gerig scored the Swiss consolation goal in the power play, so the national team did not go down to zero.

On Sunday from 1 p.m., the Swiss women still have the chance to win the bronze medal. In the game for third place, the national team will either play against Finland or the Czech Republic. The national team lost 2: 5 against the Czechs in their first World Cup game. Two years ago, the Swiss women had won silver at the home World Cup. The last bronze medal is dated 2017.
