The mayor of Caguas, William Miranda Torres, began a quarantine period in preventive isolation after learning that a person with whom he had contact recently tested positive for COVID-19.
In a press release, Miranda Torres indicated that this person participated in a working meeting in which preventive measures were taken.
“Last Friday I participated in a work meeting where the proper measures of social distancing and the use of masks were complied with. However, on Saturday I learned of the positive result for the virus from a person who participated in the meeting, ”said Miranda Torres, in written statements.
“I will be in isolation as the measures dictate in a case like this and next Wednesday I will be performing the molecular test,” said the mayor of Caguas.
He added that “I will remain isolated until the established term of quarantine for this virus is fulfilled, and after the test is carried out, I will wait for the result and we will let you know. I urge anyone who is in a similar situation, to isolate himself and take the proper tests.
Similarly, the official recalled that people who have symptoms should not leave their homes if it is not necessary and should not participate in work activities or of any other nature that put the health of other people at risk.
He added that they must be very aware of symptoms such as fever, cough and shortness of breath, among others, so that they seek medical assistance and avoid coming into contact with other people.
