One of two of his nominations for the 64th Grammy Awards has been withdrawn from the shock rocker. Why he was removed from the list remains open.
Kanye West (44, center) performed with scandal rapper DaBaby (29, left) and shock rocker Marilyn Manson (52, right) at his «Donda» release party.
The 52-year-old was actually nominated for two Grammys as part of his collaboration on Ye’s album “Donda”.
One of the nominations has now been withdrawn from the rocker. The Recording Academy, the committee behind the Grammys, didn't give a reason for this.
Marilyn Manson (52) has lost one of his two Grammy nominations.
The Recording Academy announced this on Thursday in the form of an updated list of nominees.
The reason is unclear. According to an insider, the deletion should have nothing to do with the allegations of sexual violence against him.
The nomination list for the 64th Grammy Awards was released last week. Now the Recording Academy, as the organization behind the music award ceremony is called, has made various changes to the list. In the updated version from Thursday, for example, spelling errors were corrected, some names were added, and others were deleted. The most noticeable change: Marilyn Manson (52) has lost one of his two Grammy nominations.
Manson, who is involved in several sexual assault lawsuits, lost his nomination for the song “Jail” by Kanye West for “Best Rap Song”. The scary rocker can be heard in the chorus and in the bridge on the over six-minute track. No reasons for the deletion were officially given.
A source for the “Hollywood Reporter” claims to know that the change is merely a procedural update. He did not write the song, he could only listen to it, and was therefore erroneously listed.
In February of this year, Evan Rachel Wood (34) published a statement on Instagram in which she warned of the danger posed by her ex: “The name of the perpetrator is Brian Warner, also known in the world as Marilyn Manson. He has abused me terribly for years. I was brainwashed and manipulated into submission. I'm sick of living in fear of retaliation, slander, or blackmail. »

Marilyn Manson has so far always rejected the allegations of abuse. His art and life have long been “magnets for controversy”, but the latest claims about him are “terrible falsifications of reality,” wrote the musician on Instagram. His intimate relationships with like-minded partners have always been amicable. This is the truth, no matter how others distort the past, Manson said. The investigation against him is still ongoing.
