In the midst of the pandemic and betting on the Puerto Rican public that lives in the United States, Los Cidrines announced today the expansion of its manufacturing plant in Arecibo, located in the Zeno Gandía industrial sector, at a cost of $ 3 million which will allow it to employ 50 additional people.
The president of Los Cidrines, Mari Cidre, highlighted that “it is with great pride that today we can say that our sobao bread is available in 44 states of the nation and in over 3,000 points of sale. The expansion of the business required the acquisition of new equipment and machinery that will allow the company to increase its production and expand its offer for export. So that more customers can get their favorite product in markets in the United States, as well as the British Virgin Islands, North America and the Caribbean.
The effort required the help of the Department of Economic Development and Commerce (DDEC) , and the Board of the Industrial Development Company for the approval of incentives that facilitated the expansion project, as well as a subsidy of the costs of maritime land transportation in products. exported in a period of five years.
“During the past three years and 10 months, we have helped multiple Puerto Rican companies in their expansion process to supply their clients, both in Puerto Rico and in the United States.
