The presidential candidate for the Democratic party and former vice president, Joe Biden , indicated today, Tuesday, that President Donald Trump should not participate in the next debate until he shows negative results to the COVID-19 test .
Biden said he is eager to debate Trump again, but added that “we will have to follow an extremely strict set of rules.” The next debate is due to take place on October 15, while the third debate is scheduled for October 22.
The former vice president under the Barack Obama administration stressed that, at the moment, he knows little about Trump's health status or if subsequent tests that have been carried out on Trump have yielded negative results for the coronavirus. Trump returned to the White House on Monday after spending three days hospitalized at the Walter Reed Military Medical Center.
“I think if he still has COVID-19, we shouldn't have a debate,” Biden emphasized as he boarded a plane that would take him to Delaware.
Trump returned to the White House and wasted little time once again minimizing the seriousness of COVID-19, which has already claimed the lives of over 210,000 Americans. The US president also said that he is ready for a debate on October 15.
