In the early Wednesday Champions League games, Inter Milan beat Shakhtar Donetsk at home thanks to two goals from Edin Dzeko. In Ajax Amsterdam's win at Besiktas Istanbul, Sébastien Haller is in the spotlight.

In Group C, Sebastien Haller from Ajax Amsterdam scored twice. The Dutch celebrated their fifth win in their fifth game in a 2-1 (0-1) win at Besiktas Istanbul. First, Rachid Ghezzal had put the home side in the lead (22nd), before the substitute Haller turned up (54th/69th). Besiktas remains pointless and does not even have a chance to hibernate in the Europa League. Ajax secured the victory in the Borussia Dortmund group.

So the Dutch should be happy. Especially Ajax goalie André Onana. He celebrated his comeback against the Turks. The Cameroonian goalkeeper was suspended due to a doping offense until early November. The 25-year-old played his last competitive game for Ajax in January 2020 against AZ Alkmaar (3-0). Despite the long break, Onana is still on the list of some top clubs. His contract expires in the summer, then the goalkeeper is available for a free transfer.

Italy's champions Inter Milan are a big step closer to the last sixteen in the Champions League. The Nerazzurri won 2-0 (0-0) against Shakhtar Donetsk on Wednesday. Striker Edin Dzeko became the decisive man on the field with a brace in a game dominated by the home side (61st/67th minute). Previously, the alleged goals by Ivan Perisic and Lautaro Martinez had not found recognition due to rule violations.

Your opinion

Final whistle!

That's it! Ajax wins 2-1 and is therefore the group winners, Inter wins 2-0 and can now watch what Real does in Tiraspol.

Almost the hat trick for Haller

90+ Besiktas – Ajax : Haller with his tenth goal for Ajax, but the referee does not give the goal because teammate Neres was previously offside.

Almost 2-0 for Inter

90 & # x27; Inter – Donetsk: Sensi tries again and checks Shakhtar goalie. That would have almost been the 3-0 for the Italians …

Appreciation tweet for Sebastién HallerLittle activity in the last minutes

In both places we are heading towards the final phase, in both of them not too much seems to be going on , but who knows, as you know, things can go fast in football.

Post shot Schachtar

83 & # x27; Inter – Donetsk: The Ukrainians haven't given up yet. First Dodo only hits the post, then Mudryk also misses the ricochet at close range.

Record man Haller scores in every CL game The final phase runs

77 & # x27; Inter – Donetsk : In Milan, the air is a little bit out at the moment. Inter don't want anymore and Shakhtar doesn't seem to be able anymore.

TOOOOR for Ajax!

70 & # x27; Besiktas – Ajax: The lead for the team from Amsterdam and again it is Haller who diverts a sharp cross from Martinez into the goal as quickly as possible. Hit number nine for the Ivorian, who has now scored as many hits as Robert Lewandowski in this year's Champions League.

TOOOR for Inter!

63 & # x27; Inter – Donetsk: A double blow for the Italians! Again Perisic prepares the attack and again it is Dzeko who knocks the leather into the goal. The Bosnian headed the 2-0 for Inter.

TOOOOR for Inter

63 & # x27; Inter – Donetsk: Now the spell is broken. Edin Dzeko puts Inter in the lead with a solid shot and shakes San Siro. The goal was preceded by a beautiful attack on the wings.

Again no goal for Inter

57 & # x27; Inter – Donetsk: Now Lautaro shows what he can do. The Argentine hits the ball volley in the mesh, but then the referee stops him. In consultation with the VAR, the hit will be denied due to an offside position.

Lautaro already back on the ground

56 & # x27; Inter – Donetsk: Inter-Star Lautaro Martinez falls again in the penalty area and again you have to say: There was nothing there. The Argentine falls to the ground faster than the snow in the dead of winter. You don't make a lot of friends in the world of football …

TOOOOR for Ajax!

55 & # x27; Besiktas – Ajax: Compensation for Ajax! Sebastien Haller closes a wonderful attack of the Dutch dry to 1: 1. This is already the eighth (!) Goal for the Ivorian international.

Ajax now better

51 & # x27; Besiktas – Ajax: The Dutch come out of the cabin better than in the first half and press on the equalizer. The Besiktas goalie is tested with a long-range shot.

A case for the record books

48 & # x27; Inter – Donetsk: I don't want to take the courage out of an exciting final phase in Milan, but Inter and Shakhtar have dueled three times in the premier class and each time the game ended 0-0. So today?

The second half continues!

The second 45 minutes are due, let's go.

Break whistle!

Half time in Istanbul and Milan. Besiktas preserves the mini-chance for the Europa League, Inter is superior to Donetsk, but has not yet found a gap in the opposing defense.

Lautaros Schwalbe symbolically represented again … Almost 2-0 for Besiktas

43 & # x27; Besiktas – Ajax: Great chance to make it 2-0 for the Turks! Pjanic plays a wonderful pass to Larin, who appears alone in front of Onana – and fails at the Ajax goalie.
