Globe Series at Trois-Rivières in 2020
Three-Rivers — Innovation and economic Development Trois-Rivières and GLOBE Series have just announced a collaboration for the creation of a first international event in environmental technology at Three Rivers, in 2020. World leader in the development of forums and conferences on the theme of bio-economy, GLOBE Series will support the team of IDE Trois-Rivières in the different stages of the organization.
To the director general of IDE Trois-Rivières, Mario De Tilly, the holding of this event will be a concrete way to make a difference locally, but also nationally.
“Around the world, citizens are concerned about the state of the environment and the impact of its degradation on the quality of their lives and that of their descendants. Many groups come together to find solutions, and we want to contribute to this great mobilisation”, he explained.
The approach will be much more relevant that the cluster of environmental technologies and life sciences has taken a strategic importance in recent years, both in Trois-Rivières to Bécancour. The Mauricie and Centre-du-Québec are also several companies that are pioneers in the transformation of the biomasses and the circular economy, key actors, to develop this industrial sector.
As noted by Alice Martin, director of innovation at the GLOBE Series, “this initiative shows that the regions outside of large cities have an ecosystem of innovation vibrant, offering an interesting alternative to canadian and international companies. We are very proud to work with IDE Trois-Rivières and support the growth of businesses and the ecosystem of la Mauricie et du Centre-du-Québec”.
The setting up of an international event will be for Trois-Rivières and Bécancour an exceptional opportunity to welcome the industry. The different service providers and experts in the field will be invited to participate, whether they are governmental, entrepreneurial, industrial, researchers, scientists, or citizens. The participants will come from the region of the Mauricie and Centre-du-Québec, but also elsewhere in Quebec and in Canada. This will also be the opportunity to hold activities style B2B in order to promote meetings between companies and investors.
In order to properly identify the needs of the ecosystem, the GLOBE Series, and IDE Trois-Rivières will put in place over the next few weeks a large industry consultation to identify the needs and potential of internationalization of the region. UQTR will of course be put to contribution, and the college centres for the transfer of technology and the organisations of the economic sector.
GLOBE Series is a world leader in the organisation of events on the clean economy. For over 25 years, leaders and innovators from the worlds of business, government and civil society gathered around events GLOBE to share their knowledge, find solutions and identify opportunities.
“Their extensive networks and convening power enable connect businesses, opinion leaders, NGOS, financiers, and high-level decision makers who are changing the world”, concludes Mr. De Tilly.
