The smartphone 11T Pro from the manufacturer Xiaomi is affordable, but has top features. What was particularly impressive in our test was how quickly the mobile phone charges at the socket.

The Xiaomi 11T Pro scores points in the test.

full in 19 minutes - This mobile phone breaks the load record

The design is modern, the back looks like metal – but it's plastic.

This can lead to fingerprints on the device.

That's what it's all about

  • With the 11T Pro, Xiaomi is bringing a mobile phone that charges ultra-fast.

  • The smartphone's battery is fully charged in just under 20 minutes.

Mi 11, Mi 11 Lite, Mi 11 Lite 5G, Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE, Mi 11 Ultra, Mi 11i, Xiaomi 11T and Xiaomi 11T Pro – anyone looking for a cell phone from the latest series at the Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi is spoiled for choice Choice. Those interested should take a closer look at the Xiaomi 11T Pro, which on the one hand has high-end functions, and on the other hand is even slightly cheaper than the standard Mi 11 line at a price of 626 francs. We took a closer look at the 11T Pro.

The test shows that Xiaomi has deleted some flagship parts from the 11T Pro, but it can certainly surprise in many areas. The positive starts with the design: colors such as dark gray, white and light blue are classic, the Amoled display and plastic back are connected by an aluminum frame. You don't have to shy away from the plastic on the back: The brushed design of the dark gray test object looks like metal under glass, fingerprints are the order of the day, scratches could cause problems in the long run.

Display? Love at second sight!

At around 164 x 77 x 8.8 millimeters, the cell phone, which can also handle the new, super-fast 5G cellular standard, is so large that it can be held with one hand, but no longer operated. With a thickness of 8.8 millimeters, the device is slim. But it looks a bit bulky due to the rather wide frame and the protruding camera module.

The screen in particular shows that this is not a complete high-end device. It is not only flat towards the metal frame, but also lets you feel the security layer on the display that was applied from the factory with your fingertips and also visibly shows a narrow, black edge of the screen. There is a selfie cam punchhole in the middle of the display. The look of the display clearly points to a mid-range smartphone, but the inside of the screen still has some flagship impressions to offer.

The high brightness enables problem-free use in sunlight, and the Xiaomi 11T Pro also manages the automatic adjustment of the brightness level better and more gently than you are used to from most other smartphones. The high refresh rate of 120 Hertz is surprising, but it can be turned down to save battery power. The display: love at second sight, so to speak.

Off like a rocket

The battery is large at 5000 mAh and will keep the smartphone in operation for around 1.5 days with average use. If it then has to be plugged in, it goes like a rocket: With a 120 watt USB-C charger, the empty battery bar shoots from 0 to 100 in just 19 minutes! Xiaomi itself explains that a full charge should be possible in just 17 minutes under ideal conditions. Either way, the loading time exceeds everything we have seen in previous cell phone tests and is a real surprise.

The Xiaomi 11T Pro has a lot to offer in terms of cameras: On the front, the selfie cam takes photos with 16 megapixels and has sensational bokeh effects in portraits, on the back a 108 MP wide-angle camera, an 8 MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a 5 MP tele macro camera. That reads unbeatable on paper, but the Xiaomi 11T Pro is not a new camera king.

The Xiaomi 11T Pro is a smartphone that is not so easy to put in the middle-class or high-end drawer: The charging speed makes almost all other flagships look completely old, the display and camera scratch the high-end segment, part of the interior Likewise. Compromises such as a lack of memory expansion, the fingerprint sensor in a button instead of under the screen or the lack of wireless charging are, however, mid-range. A non-existent IP certification for a dust and waterproof housing as well.
