  • Last October, the relationship between Schaller and Gladbach became sports director and managing director Max Eberl public.

After half a year it's over again: The former Central Switzerland presenter Sedrina Schaller (33) has left the Bundesliga club Borussia Mönchengladbach, as reported by “RP Online”. Upon request from 20 Minuten, the football club confirmed that Schaller is no longer working for Borussia Mönchengladbach. “The contract was terminated for private reasons and was carried out at the request of Sedrina Schaller. A decision has not yet been made about a replacement for her position,” says Markus Aretz, director of corporate communications at the association.

The former moderator of Tele 1 started a new job as an assistant in team management there last year. “Her dream job”, as she said at the time, “for which she fought hard”. “For me it feels like in the Champions League. I'm really looking forward to it! ”Said Schaller to 20 Minuten last year.

Now the surprising end in Gladbach. Schaller left the club at the end of December. The reason is her love affair with Gladbach manager Max Eberl (48). In October 2021, the relationship between Schaller and the sports director and managing director of Gladbach became public when the German newspaper “Bild” published photos that showed her and Eberl closely embraced on the sidelines of an amateur game. So now the end in Gladbach. When asked, Schaller did not want to answer any questions on the subject.

No love affair between Schaller and Eberl

The love affair, however, only developed while she was working for Mönchengladbach. Among other things, she was on the road with Max Eberl to observe interesting players from other clubs. The work was exciting and fun, says Schaller to “Blick”. But: “The situation that I got together with Max during this time now means that I will stop my job at Borussia and look for something new.” That a separation between her and the sports director was the reason for the termination of the contract, Schaller denied to the “Blick”. The two are “very happy together.” In team management, she was a link between the first team, the sports director and other people involved at the club. For example, she was also responsible for hotel inquiries, stadium accreditations and the integration of new players.
