Medium-sized and larger companies are more willing to pay more wages. “Smaller companies are often more cautious, especially in times of crisis, because they have less financial cushion and reserves than larger companies,” explains Davide Villa, CEO of Jobcloud, which, like 20 Minuten, belongs to the TX Group.

For them Survey, more than 10 & # x27; 000 employees and 800 companies in Switzerland were interviewed. In German-speaking Switzerland, only 20 percent expect more money in their wallet; in western Switzerland, however, 36 percent.

Men are also more optimistic about wage increases than women and various genders: 32 percent of men, 26 percent of women and ten percent of various genders believe in a wage increase in the next year.

Crisis no longer affects recruiting

“Due to the Corona crisis, employees have become more cautious, which is also reflected in the expectations regarding wage increases,” explains Villa. But many companies were able to adapt to the new challenges. The crisis no longer has a major impact on the search for personnel: “That is why companies are increasingly willing to raise wages.”

Companies that are planning a wage increase want to do so for the most part to the same extent as they did a year ago. Around a third of the employers surveyed are planning a larger wage increase than a year ago. “By adjusting wages, employers recognize the extraordinary performance of their employees,” says Villa. This motivates employees and binds them to the company.

UBS wage forecast:

UBS is forecasting an average wage increase of 0.8 percent for the next year. Depending on the industry, a different wage premium is to be expected:
