Drunk driving: two drivers arrested in the same car
Two people sharing the same car were charged with impaired driving in the Outaouais.
The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) police arrested two men from Sept-Îles and Sainte-Perpétue last Saturday on Highway 50.
A citizen alerted the emergency services when he saw the vehicle come to a stop, while the two people exchanged driver and passenger seats.
“The two suspects threw cans out of the vehicle before heading west,” said Sergeant Marc Tessier, spokesman for the SQ.
The police intercepted the vehicle on Highway 50, in the Plaisance sector.
A 31-year-old man from Sept-Îles was arrested and saw his driver’s license suspended for 30 days.
Passenger at the time of his arrest, a 33-year-old man from Sainte-Perpétue must be charged with impaired driving and refusing to take a breathalyzer test. His driver’s license was suspended for a period of 90 days and his vehicle was seized for a period of 30 days.
