Insiders and analysts suspect that the iPhone SE will receive an update in spring 2022.

Cheap iPhone should 2022 are coming

Apple should plan a corresponding event for the first quarter, they say.

That's what

  • There are numerous rumors circulating on the Internet about the upcoming iPhone SE.

  • The inexpensive smartphone could get a faster chip.

  • In addition, the iPhone SE should be connected to the 5G network.

  • According to analysts, Apple should show the new iPhone SE in early 2022.

In less than four months, Apple could present the next cell phone. According to analysts from the Taiwanese market research company Trendforce, the manufacturer is planning an event for the first quarter of 2022. In the past, Apple has held product events several times in March.

On the next occasion, among other things, a new iPhone SE could be unveiled. It is the smallest and cheapest model in the manufacturer's lineup. Screen, camera, battery: Trendforce leaves open everything that needs to be replaced on the smartphone. According to the analysts, however, it is highly likely that the device will receive 5G wireless technology.

So far, there have been very different statements about the remaining key technical data. According to the analyst Ross Young, there should be no major changes to the screen of the upcoming iPhone SE. The cell phone should still have a 4.7-inch LCD display. He does not predict a change until 2023 or 2024.

In July there were already the first rumors about a new edition of the iPhone SE. At that time it was still rumored that the A14 processor should be installed in the upcoming device. Other analysts suspect that Apple wants to install the chip of the top models, the A15, in the cheap iPhone. Visually, nothing on the device should change. It should still be in the same case as before – reminding of the times of the iPhone 8. The fingerprint sensor – which has been replaced by Face ID in newer iPhones – should also be retained in the iPhone SE 2022, writes Heise.de.

Apple released the first iPhone SE in this country in April 2016. At that time, a screen size of five inches was the standard. The second model in the series appeared in 2020. Nowadays the iPhone SE with its 4.7 inches is tiny, but it is precisely because of this that it belongs to a sought-after niche. Just as a comparison: The iPhone 13 Pro Max measures 6.7 inches – around 17 centimeters diagonally. 4.7 inches corresponds to just under 12 centimeters.
