After a bitter start defeat against the Czechs, the Swiss floorball women won their second World Cup game against Latvia 13-0. Corina Rüttimann made it 1-0 for Switzerland after just three minutes. Despite a penalty, Rolf Kern's team immediately took over the game again and made Michelle Wiki 2-0.

After the Latvians recorded a crossbar shot, Chiara Gredig made it 3-0 after a beautiful pass from Julia Suter and Nathalie Spichiger scored 4-0 before the first third break. The second third was then determined by many penalties that were exploited by the Swiss women and led to a 7-0 lead.

Hat-trick by Flurina Marti

In the last third, Flurina Marti managed a hat-trick straight away. Marti needed a little more than six minutes for these three goals. Latvia cheered in the last minute, but the goal didn't count. The Swiss team was able to celebrate a shootout.

The best player in the game, Corina Rüttimann, said after the big win: “It is definitely important that we scored a lot of goals. It's good for self-confidence. ” Nevertheless, she is not entirely satisfied: “I still have the feeling that we still had a lot of technical errors in our game. We had good combinations and have to keep working on them. ” On Tuesday evening, the Swiss will play the third and final group game against Poland at 7.45 p.m.
