Aldi starts the new delivery service Aldi-now. There, customers can now order Aldi groceries to be delivered to their homes, as the discounter writes in a press release. It is the first online shop in this format.

So far, Aldi has only sold large home items, such as grills and garden furniture, via Aldi-Liefer online. For the time being, the new online shop will only be available in the city of Zurich. In the further course of the test, the delivery area will be steadily expanded, as it is called.

Orders are delivered from Monday to Saturday between 10 a.m. and 9 p.m., depending on your selection. If you order by 11.30 a.m., you will receive your goods on the same day from 6 p.m. The minimum order value is 50 francs. The delivery costs are between 4.90 and 9.90 francs.

Aldi developed the new online shop together with the start-up Annanow AG. If you want to order, you have to register. “The delivery service is not an anonymous online shop – the products ordered are selected and delivered directly from the Aldi Suisse branch,” explains Jérôme Meyer, Country Manager.

This is Aldi:

Aldi Suisse operates 220 branches in Switzerland and employs around 3,900 people, around 215 of whom are apprentices. In 2019, the discounter had a turnover of almost 2.3 billion francs. Aldi is silent about the sales figures for 2020. However, the discounter was able to create 300 new jobs in the Corona year.
