Aho plays the hero in overtime and the Hurricanes beat the Panthers 4-3
SUNRISE — Sebastian Aho has rocked the ropes at 1:46 of the extension and the Hurricanes of the Caroline tore off a short 4-3 to the Panthers in Florida on Saturday night, giving them at the same time a fifth victory in a row.
Aho has skillfully redirected a shot from the mouth of the net to the bottom of the cage with Panthers, for his 27th goal this season.
By virtue of this victory, the Hurricanes are now third in the standings of the Metropolitan section with 78 points. They are still struggling with the Pittsburgh Penguins (77 points), Montreal canadiens (77) and the Blue Jackets of Columbus (75) for obtaining a playoff spot in the eastern conference.
Brett Pesce, Greg McKegg and Brock McGinn also scored for the Hurricanes. Peter Mrazek made 31 stops, including three in a breakaway in overtime.
Henrik Borgstrom has scored a goal and collected one assist, and Mark Pysyk has completed the brand for the Panthers. Samuel Montembeault, a native of Arthabaska, has rejected 22 shots in his first start in the NHL.
The Panthers pushed a third match away in overtime, and they have all lost – the first two are making it even into a shootout.
