A saguenay region who was murdered in Montreal; his spouse, arrested
Ali Mahadi Mahamat, aged 23, has been charged with second-degree murder of Noémie Lavoie, a young woman of 24-year-old from Saguenay, found dead yesterday evening in a home in the Ahuntsic-Cartierville, Montreal.
Mahadi Mahamat would be the spouse of the victim. He was arrested Tuesday night and was scheduled to appear Wednesday afternoon at the Palais de justice of Montreal.
A call was made to 911 at 21: 10 a.m. to report sounds of a dispute in an apartment in the alley Sauriol, near the corner of Miller.
The victim bore signs of violence on the top of the body. According to our information, she would have been stabbed in the neck.
It is the fifth homicide to occur in 2019 in the island of Montreal.
The victim, Noémie Lavoie, a native of Laterrière, had already been the subject of an arrest in Saguenay in October 2016 to the result of a criminal offence that occurred in Montreal.
The record of this young woman of 24 years will have passed by the Palais de justice de Chicoutimi.
Me Olivier Théorêt, legal Aid, remembers having represented the interests of Noémie Lavoie.
“I had appeared for it on the 27th of October 2016. She had been arrested following a warrant of arrest from Montreal. She was not submitted to the courthouse for his appearance”, note Me Théorêt, consulting his file.
“She was coaccusée with Ali Mahadi Mahamat of complicity after the fact in a story of serious sexual assault and other crimes, which were occurred on September 22, 2016”, he says.
