A $ 24 million gourmet hall in Sainte-Foy this fall
A $ 24 million gourmet hall project will open its doors – and its stalls – in the fall of 2020 in Sainte-Foy. The project called “The Gourmet District” plans to bring together twenty businesses, including restaurants, a food market, a culinary school, artisans, brewers and renowned chefs, we promise.
A near the Public Market Limoilou and intensive Galleries Galleries of the capital, now joins Quebec food hall of Capwood group, which will be built in the heart of the real estate project HQ Sainte-Foy. Located on Church Road at the corner of Chemin des Quatre-Bourgeois, the Gourmet District seems destined to become the neighbor of the future Sainte-Foy Public Market. It remains to be seen if the two offers will be complementary or if they will compete.
The Sainte-Foy Public Market built for $ 3.6 million
In a press release issued this morning, it is announced that the new concept will not “take the form of a market or a traditional food court”. That said, the place will allow the purchase of products from local artisans, imports and ready-to-eat. A microbrewery, a wine and tapas bar, local restaurants and world cuisine, bakers, pastry chefs, among others, are also part of the plans. All built inside a glass atrium of 35,000 square feet (3,250 square meters).
The identities of the participating businesses, restaurants and their chefs could be revealed in May, at the same time as a first site visit for the media.
“We want to offer sector residents, workers and tourists a distinctive experience, and above all, unlike anything else done in the greater Quebec City area.” The Gourmet District is a new concept as much by its approach as its food offer, “said Denis Epoh, president of the Quebec real estate company Capwood, by a press release.
A total of 670 seats will be available in the food areas. In summer, five terraces will be built. This project should create 150 jobs.
HQ Sainte-Foy is a real estate project of 122 condos – also signed Groupe Capwood – with a total value of $ 80 million, located at 975, avenue Roland-Beaudin. Built near the future tram, the concept promises to bring together a medical clinic, a pharmacy, a daycare center as well as a spa and a beauty salon.
