231 km / h in the Parc des Laurentides
A 32-year-old man was pinned at 231 kilometers an hour in the Laurentides Wildlife Preserve on Friday morning. The individual, who drove an Infiniti, was not at his first big speeding (GEV). He was fined $ 2384 and 30 demerit points.
The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) police intercepted the man at kilometer 212, about 20 kilometers from Saguenay. It was not possible to know in which direction the driver was traveling.
As it passed, the SQ’s speedometer posted 231 kilometers per hour, in an area of 100 kilometers per hour. The individual had already been pinned for a GEV some time ago, which makes him an offender-recidivist, said the SQ spokesman, Sergeant Hughes Beaulieu. When a driver is pinched for a second time, his license is suspended for a period of 30 days and the car is towed. For a first offense, we are talking about a suspension of seven days.
Asked which car drove the offender to go at such a speed, Hugues Beaulieu said it was an Infiniti, but could not specify the model.
